Genome-Wide Identification and Expression Analysis of the PME and PMEI Gene Families in Diospyros kaki: A Bioinformatics Study

Pectins are major components of cell walls in plants. Pectin methylesterases (PMEs) and pectin methylesterase inhibitors (PMEIs) play crucial roles synthesis metabolism. Overall, 28 putative DkPMEs 29 DkPMEIs were identified from the D. kaki genome. According to phylogenetic analysis, DkPME/DkPMEI proteins can be classified into four five clades, respectively. Motif gene structure analysis showed that highly conserved same which indicates function these similar. Besides, genes distributed unevenly on their corresponding chromosomes. Synteny PME or PMEI usually matched with more than one oleifera, lotus, A. thaliana, implying may diverse. Expression clade exhibited diverse expression patterns, indicating might have functions. Functional protein–protein interaction network DkPMEI21 DkPMEI15 core nodes were, respectively, positive negative regulators for carbohydrate metabolism, stress responses, sugar signaling. This study provides a theoretical basis functional characteristics, evolutionary relationship, role families developing persimmon fruit.
